What's a smart home?
Yes, smart homes. Smart homes are houses that are modernized with technology to, hopefully, make life better. These are the homes that have sensors built in so they know when to turn lights on, turn on the TV, and get your coffee brewing in the morning.
It's not that futuristic is it? We've all slowly adapted to these newer technologies (whether we wanted to or not) and recognize that life can be very, well, automated.
Although we can run down to Home Depot or Wal-Mart to buy these things for our house, it doesn't mean we'd have a smart house. A smart house has it's different parts tied together with some form of central control. This could be a wall mounted device or even a standard PC.
Smart homes is all about automating as much as possible to free you up to do the things
I'm not completely sold on the automated life style (but I do I love gadgets). I enjoy the outdoors and all the recreation that goes with it. The thing is, smart homes are not meant to prevent life. They're meant to free you up to enjoy life.
